This matcha bowl has been given a matte black and white finish, with multiple ink-spot motifs around the sides reminiscent of calligraphy. The pictures show three sides of the same bowl. Each bowl is slightly different, so these pictures are just one example. 

Having a nice matcha bowl is critical to preparing matcha well - the flat bottom and high sides enable vigorous whisking without fear of splashing or damaging the whisk. Beyond that, as it warms up, the bowl becomes a very comforting vessel from which to drink!
