This matcha bowl has been given a glossy finish and is very textural, with the melting, swirling white being raised on the black surface, inside and out. It is also quite thick, giving it good thermal insulation. 

Having a nice matcha bowl is critical to preparing matcha well - the flat bottom and high sides enable vigorous whisking without fear of splashing or damaging the whisk. Beyond that, as it warms up, the bowl becomes a very comforting vessel from which to drink!
