The bamboo for both the matcha whisk and chashaku are made of natural black bamboo - a rare variant of bamboo with a mottled light and dark brown appearance, sometimes referred to as purple bamboo. 

The whisk has 100 prongs, which will produce an excellent and frothy matcha!
