This was a wonderful way to explore some of the River and Stone matcha. The packaging was pretty and made each sample feel like a little treasure. Each sample comes with enough matcha for two servings, so you can share, try different preparation methods, or have one really big cup! The matcha is vibrant and each sample is very fragrant and has an interesting and distinct flavor profile. This would make a great gift for a matcha lover or a fun treat for yourself.
So happy to finally experience fresh gokou! This matcha is so smooth, creamy, and sweet!
I decided to try their matcha starter kit and loved it. The bowl is lovely and the matcha superb.
This was one of our favorites we got from here. The description on the matcha is right on with this one. I can totally get a very faint "watermelon" note to it with a savory "seaweed" taste in the best sense of it.
Also, super fresh tasting and super smooth as with the rest of matcha being that it was freshly ground. This was definitely a one of a kind matcha experience.
This was my first order from River and Stone Tea and it did not disappoint. Such a special and well balanced matcha!
Super fresh. Great taste. Good quality matcha.
I'm relatively new to matcha so my vocabulary is limited..that said, I know what I like. I've been experimenting with different matcha and I can honestly say that this one is my favorite. It has a really distinct taste that is delicious by itself or with a dollop of alternative milk. The flavor is smooth, but rich and not bitter at all. And I can taste that it's freshly milled! Thank you Simon!
I recently got into matcha and decided to try making it myself. I googled matcha kits and came across this website and as I looked into the company, I found out it’s based in Minnesota, where I was born and raised. Now living in New York, this kit feels like a small piece of home. I’m so excited to start making matcha!
Excellent milling, vibrant green color. Really smooth and sweet
Arrived quickly! Package was on point! Matcha is incredible. Will be keeping this in my collection!
The Kagoshima Blend is my first experience with River and Stone matcha and I'm very impressed. The flavor is smooth and delicate...not a touch of bitterness and it's delicious even with a splash of warm soy milk. Most notable is the freshness! I've never had milled-to-order matcha before and now I'm never going back. It's really different. Bright green and doesn't even need to be sifted. I can't wait to try other varieties from River and Stone! Thank you Simon!
This tree shaded Yabukita is supremely smooth and rich. I like using this one for special occasions or having as a treat on Sunday mornings. It will be a part of my regular matcha rotation, as long as it is available.
This sampler was a fun introduction to River and Stone Tea’s matcha collection. The quality of matcha and brightness of the individual flavors and aromas were especially evident due to the fresh ground nature of the samples. Each sample mixed readily with no clumping after sifting, and produced vibrant green bowls of tea. The Somada Okumidori in particular stood out with a creamy mouthfeel coupled with floral high notes up front followed by an almost nutty finish. It delivered a long, pleasant aftertaste that lasted several minutes.
I got this as a birthday present for my fiancé and he loved it :)
This blend creates a smooth and well-balanced matcha. The packaging is lovely as well!
Delicious, fresh, and well sourced!
This is an excellent selection of matcha. Each flavor is wonderful and I would gladly purchase this again.
I loved all three types of matcha i sampled! they are very vibrant in color and have a rich taste! will be repurchasing!
We are so excited to be using this matcha at our coffee shop! We love that it is locally milled, super fresh, and tastes great!
I really appreciated this sampler to compare three different kind of classic tea. Usually a can of matcha powder is pricy and can't just buy to try the taste, so this small sampler (you can still try two times each) is great for me. My favorite was probably Asahi (Morning Sun in Japanese). I found it literally brighter than other two. Thank you for making this sampler!
